ARC, US - works toward the goal of having people with mental retardation fully participate in civil, social, educational, health and employment activities in the communities in which they reside, with the opportunity to grow to their fullest potential in every way. American Association on Mental Retardation (AAMR)
Since 1876, AAMR has been providing leadership in the field of mental retardation. AAMR is the oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization of individuals concerned about mental retardation and related disabilities.
American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD)
AAPD is a new organization working to bring about "the next step in the evolution of the disability rights movement" - economic clout and power through numbers- unity, leadership and impact.
Justice For All - was formed to defend and advance disability rights and programs in the 104th Congress. One of their goals is to work with national and state organizations of people with disabilities to get the word from Washington D.C. out to the grassroots. Center on Human Policy
The Center on Human Policy is a Syracuse University based policy, research, and advocacy organization involved in the national movement to insure the rights of people with disabilities. Since its founding, the Center has been involved in the study and promotion of open settings (inclusive community opportunities) for people with disabilities. Their web site includes information on their projects and activities, mental retardation, their publications and resources and more.

The National Association for the Dually Diagnosed
NADD is a not-for-profit (501C3) membership association established for professionals, care providers and families to promote understanding of and services for individuals who have developmental disabilities and mental health needs.
The National Coalition on Self-Determination - is a national coalition of people with disabilities, parents, and family members who work to promote federal policies that support the five principles of Self-Determination: self-advocacy, freedom, authority, responsibility, and support. The Coalition also supports the Community Imperative, a declaration asserting the fundamental human right of all people, regardless of the severity of their disabilities, to community living.

NICHCY is a national information center that provides information on disabilities and disability related issues.
National Organization on Disabilities (NOD)
The National Organization on Disability promotes full and equal participation of America's 54 million men, women and children with disabilities in all aspects of life.
The National Parent Network on Disabilities (NPND)
The NPND provides a presence and national voice for all families of children, youth and adults with disabilities.
National Rehabilitation Information Center (NARIC), funded by the National Institute on Disability & Rehabilitation Research collects the results of federally funded research projects. The site includes 60,000 disability-related records.

TASH Teleconferences
These sessions are conferences which take place via the telephone. Registrants will be sent an 800 number and a passcode to access the seminar for which they are registered. Each attendee is sent handout materials in advance to follow-along with during the presentation portion, then a Question & Answer period will follow at the end of each session. Each participant has the opportunity to signal the operator that they have a question. Participants will also be given information on how to access an on-line threaded discussion about the topic.
